Hey there!

Hi there, I’m an author of stories of fantasy and fiction based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I weave stories that are a distinct blend of my people’s past and my vision of their future, mostly as a reflection of the contemporary milieu of Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

As someone who was born in the kampungs of Kedah, then to the boroughs of Melbourne before returning to Malaysia as a teenager, I write from the thresholds between different worlds. One foot within society, one foot without. My stories bloom in the estuaries between the modern and the ancient, the Western and… everything else.

Since 2008, I have written ten plays, and three published short stories and poems. I am currently finishing my Masters in English and Creative Writing in Nottingham University Semenyih.

I like magical things. I like to write about magical things. I aspire to, hopefully, someday be a magical thing myself.
